Some of my Artworks
Fondamenta della Misericordia
Fondamenta della Misericordia is a Venetian waterfront street in the Cannaregio district, near the Scuola Grande della Misericordia. It runs parallel to the Rio de la Misericordia, one of the main canals of Cannaregio.
In Venice, the term “fondamenta” refers to a street that runs along a canal.
Rio di San Barnaba
The Rio di San Barnaba is located in the Dorsoduro district and takes its name from the Church and Campo San Barnaba overlooking the canal.
The print shows the stretch of canal from Ponte dei Pugni toward the Grand Canal: on the right, one can glimpse Campo San Barnaba facing the canal and which — as a small curiosity — was the setting for several famous films, including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade starring Harrison Ford and Summertime with Katharine Hepburn (a film that shows a beautiful Venice in 1955).
Another typical feature of the Rio di San Barnaba is the presence of a beautiful barge (visible on the right in the print) that sells fruit and vegetables during the day.
Ponte delle Guglie – Bridge of Spires
Guglie Bridge is a bridge in Venice, located in the Cannaregio district.
It is the only Venetian bridge adorned with pinnacles placed at the base of the railings: the spires from which it takes its name.
The Cannaregio Bridge was first built in wood in 1285. It was replaced by the current stone bridge in 1580, as testified by the inscriptions placed on the bridge itself. Restored in 1641 and 1677, it was rebuilt in 1823 with the addition of the spires, from which it took its current name.
Window of Palazzo Contarini Fasan
Palazzo Contarini Fasan, known as Desdemona’s House, is a Venetian palace located in the San Marco district overlooking the Grand Canal.
Palazzo Contarini is a distinctive 15th-century building owned by the Contarini family. A legend says that it was traditionally considered the home of Desdemona, the Shakespearean character from Othello.
The palace is small in size and features a vertically developed façade.
Goby fish
The goby (called gò in Venetian dialect) is a type of fish that lives mainly in lagoon areas or where the seabed is very muddy: in the past it was used as a trade commodity, while today it appears in some Venetian recipes, particularly in risotto di gò.
Salizada San Lio Palace
A small 13th-century palace located on Salizada San Lio.
Salizada means “paved,” and these streets were among the most important in Venice — so when only a few Venetian streets were paved with bricks, these were the first to be paved with the more expensive stone paving that can now be seen almost everywhere.
Calle dei Furlani Palace
Palace in Calle dei Furlani, Venice (San Giorgio degli Schiavoni)
A characteristic 16th-century Venetian house with windows placed symmetrically on either side of the three-light window on the first floor. The original interior layout has been preserved. There are two staircases: one for the first floor and another for the two upper floors, which form a single apartment.
Microorganisms 2
Microorganisms 2 is an intaglio print made by me during a personal study on microorganisms in the aquatic world.
Venice Skyline
An etching on copper depicting the Venice skyline. More specifically, this is the view of Venice as seen from the Northern Lagoon, heading toward Murano.
Tree
Tree is an intaglio print created from a copper plate. The technique used is etching.
Printed with intaglio ink on Rosaspina paper.
Paper size: 7.08 × 9.84 inches
Image size: 2.36 × 3.54 inches
Bell Tower of San Giorgio dei Greci
This intaglio print depicts the bell tower of San Giorgio dei Greci in Venice.
The church was the center of the Scuola dei Grei, the Greek Brotherhood in Venice. The bell tower was built in 1592.
Venetian wellhead
The Venetian well is an architectural structure that was used in the city of Venice in past centuries for the supply of drinking water.
Today, the more than 600 surviving Venetian wells constitute an ornamental yet essential element of Venetian urban design, contributing fundamentally to its uniqueness and character.
The term “vera da pozzo” has been in use since the 11th century. Being located at the center of many Venetian squares, they were often places of socialization and interaction among Venetians. The typical well is adorned with inscriptions and sculptures of saints or family coats of arms.

A stop at Plum Plum Creations is a delightful addition to a tour of Venice! It takes you to a quaint section of the city for a personal introduction to Arianna’s print making. We made an appointment and thoroughly enjoyed her personal overview of her work. These are unique, colorful and reasonably priced souvenirs of a beautiful city. Her studio is located on the edge of a canal and gives you an opportunity to explore another corner of Venice. Thanks Arianna!
We were walking near our hotel in Venice and discovered Arianna’s wonderful studio-shop. Arianna took the time to explain how she produces her artwork and allowed us to browse until we decided on our purchase. Her watercolors are beautiful and depict Venice in a very beautiful way! We are happy she was nearby and we stepped inside. We wish her great success!
I am so happy to have found Arianna’s studio! Her designs are beautiful and unique. Arianna was very friendly, taking the time to explain her work to me and showing how she creates her designs. The only problem was trying to decide which one I wanted to buy… I loved them all! Highly recommend a visit if you are in Venice.
