This painting represents the Rio dei Bareteri (rio=canal, in venetian) as you see it from the Bareteri bridge.

The Bareteri bridge is located on the Avenue called Mercerie, in Venice. Its name comes from the manufacturers of caps, baréte in venetian dialect, that in this place were numerous. Just on the bridge juts the balcony of a brothel, a meeting place and entertainment of the Venetian nobility, belonged to the family Venier.

Technique used: thin black felt pen drawing colored with watercolors.
