Venetian house

This drypoint shows a venetian house placed in Castello district, close to San Giovanni e Paolo and Santa Maria Formosa.

This house is one of the few in town that is surrounded on three sides by the three canals: Rio Santa Marina, Rio di San Giovanni Laterano and Rio Tetta. This feature makes this house one of the most curious and photographed in Venice.

Here you can see the house on Google Street View:

Technique: Drypoint on zinc plate, printed with chalcographic black ink on rosaspina white paper.
The drypoint was then coloured by hand using the watercolor technique. The abbreviation P.d.A. at the bottom left, instead of the serial number, means “artist’s proof” (P.d.A. “Prova d’Artista”).
